The SMAC Down Shape Up is not going as well as planned. It is day two of the SMACDSU and I almost failed again yesterday. Only this time, I was one step closer to failure. It took me approximately 2 aspirin and one 1.5 hour nap to motivate me to succeed. I cannot resort to these measures on a daily basis. For now, I am blaiming my near-failure on the fact that I had a headache and that I had spent 50% more time in the classroom than the previous day. I finally got out and had a great run in the snow and ice. I ended up running farther than expected, which doesn't even begin to make up for my lame acts before the run. By the time I got home, my bum was frozen solid and it was pitch black outside. Luckily, my forsight helped me to remember to bring my headlamp, and this was available when necessary. My run was followed by cooking the before mentioned meatloaf, which did not turn out as tasty as expected. I am still trying to get over the disappointment, and expect it will take its toll when the SMACDSU is scheduled to begin tonight. I will update you as to the success of tonight's mission, which is to include getting back into climbing shape after over a month off.

I completely understand your loss of momentum... It's crazy how I worked out everyday during break, and then as soon as school starts I get really lazy and take 2 hr naps instead of exercising. Good Luck to you I will help motivate you if you do the same for me! stay strong
Yea, whats up with the napping? I've found that my body just straight shuts down at a certain point! Its like a puppy: play play chew chew chew SLEEP- all of the sudden... I mean, I do like napping, but it seems like these after-school-between-classes-before-dinner-whenever-possible napping is much more "do or pass out!" hmmmm
I am still working up the energy to get out of bed this morning. I didn't get a call about the cancellation until I was almost out the door (and we know how late that is) and then I promptly went back to sleep.
I hope you were called (or checked online) sooner since calling you at 8:15am would have been a little late.
Hope you get some good running in today!
